Rahmatullah W. Rahmati, MD

Dr Rahmatullah (Wais) Rahmati, Assistant Professor of Otolaryngology/Head and Neck Surgery, is the Director of Sleep Surgery at Columbia University Medical Center and the Medical Director of the Adult ENT Clinic at the New York-Presbyterian Hospital - Vanderbilt Clinic. Dr. Rahmati earned his medical degree from the University of Sydney, School of Medicine. He completed Otolaryngology residency at the New York-Presbyterian Hospital/ Columbia and Cornell program and fellowship in Head and Neck Surgical Oncology at the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. He recently completed a Master of Public Health in Health Policy and Management at the Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health. Dr. Rahmati specializes in the treatment of benign and malignant tumors of the head and neck region, minimally invasive salivary gland surgery (sialendoscopy), sleep surgery-including transoral robotic surgery and hypoglossal nerve stimulation, and skull base surgery. His research interests are in the areas of head and neck cancer, salivary gland disorders, obstructive sleep apnea, and the role of social media in medicine. Dr Rahmati is committed to resident and medical student education and was awarded the Shain Schley Resident Teaching Award and Maxwell Abramson Memorial Award for Excellence in Teaching and Service.
